HOW TO WRITE A C.V.

It needs to stand out from the rest and promote your skills, qualifications, experience and qualities.

It should always be presented in a clear, easy to read format. The main aim is to make the reader interested and want to read on.

Here are some tips to a perfect C.V:

• Try not to make your C.V longer than 2 pages.
• Always be honest as information can be easily checked.
• Explain your position clearly but keep to the point.
• Always check the spelling

• Check, check and double check!

Here is a “dummy” C.V for you to use a guide.

INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES

Your Consultant will provide you with background information about the company you are going to see. However, getting additional information yourself and visiting a store before the interview will help you to understand the company, it's products and customers more fully.

Before the interview do as much homework on the company as you can, look at their website if they have one and find out all about the company.
Make sure you understand the job role and what you will be expected to do, the duties involved and the skills required.
Make sure you know where the interview is being held, if necessary, do a trial run in advance so you know how long it is going to take you and so that you can arrive in plenty of time.
Make sure you know the name of the person who is going to interview you.
Dress smartly for the interview as first impressions count, also make sure you have clean and tidy clothes, hair is neatly styled. Keep perfume and facial jewellery to a minimum.
During the interview always be polite and friendly.
Speak clearly and calmly try not to get flustered.
If you don’t understand a question do not be frightened to ask the interviewer to repeat it.
Think of some questions that the interviewer has not already answered.
